A few low quality snaps from a beautifully bleak winter morning on the water. I really wasn’t much in the mood for taking pictures so just stuffed a waterproof compact (£80 on eBay, hurrah!) into my BA. Sometimes it’s just better to not bother with a camera. As it happened it was lumpy/fun enough to make picture taking a little tricky anyway but a few snaps might have been worthwhile even if not up to the standards you might have come to expect ;-)
Early on the sky was doing that wonderful winter thing with a golden horizon visible under a heavy layer of cloud
It wasn’t a really long session. I burned off a lot of upper body muscle riding through the Himalayas and while I’ve been working hard to put it back there is no substitute for just putting in some miles on the water.
mostly messy left-over wind swell with a lot of rebound interference from the cliffs. Delightfully bouncy rock-hopping.
I’ll happily confess to adding some grain and adjusting the palette of these pics to reflect faded Kodachrome 200. A nice film.. and it helps mitigate poor quality jpgs.. and suits the atmosphere of a bleak winter morning ;-)
some good swells to play with.. surfing the gaps and filling sinuses with sea water.
Anyway, enough of that. Best do some work…
