Thursday morning dawned filthy wet and misty, the forecast promised better however so when the rain began to ease around midday, and with the encroaching winter very much in mind, camping gear, food, and fishing clobber was hastily thrown at bikes for a cheeky early weekend at a favourite spot just 50km east of here.

Nice post as usual Mike.
Intersted to know how the On-One is working out. Interesting machine and always interesting to hear if someone gets drop bars to work nicely/comfortably on an MTB frame.
hey, it’s a great frame. picked it up as ‘shop damaged’ (it had a tiny, tiny scratch) for just ÂŁ199. The WTB Dirt Drops on a a short stem are perfect apparently.
Filthy, wet and misty, sounds like a nice Scottish summer day Mike. Glad you are enjoying life post Peru.
Regards,
Andy
hehe, fair point! I hope you’re well!
I think you mean 30 miles. in Britain we do not use the measurement of kilometer it is miles.
“…in Britain we do not use the measurement of kilometer”… haha, oh I do… I’m awkward.
Milles for cars.
Kilometres for adventures.
I think that should be a rule!!!
Great pics as ever!
hehe, excellent rule!
Great photos – will pass them on to others, like me, who are now five star hotel people.
haha, cheers! you know we were sitting on a rock watching the moonrise and wondering how one could possibly prefer to be anywhere else at that moment….
perfect Mike. Just bought 2 Specialized Diverge – I have joined the gravel gravy train.
haha, cool.. but I would have put you down for something in steel.. how wrong I was ;-) Look forward to reading the adventures.
Dreadful socks-shoes combination. Only a Brit could wear that… :-)
haha, yup….!
