I’ve just written to a friend currently cycling around the world concerning maps for biking in South America and figured it may be useful to reproduce here…(really just very lazy way of producing a post…) I already wrote about maps for Colombia and Ecuador last year here, and also touched on Rough Guides maps here… so here is what I wrote… “…traditionally the hardest country to get a good map for has been Bolivia but Reise now have a decent one (http://www.reise-know-how.de/bolivien-11300000-p-1782.html) as part of their World Mapping Project, the scale is 1:1,300 000 which is OK. It’s printed on waterproof paper too. The same maps are available for Peru, Chile, Argentina with Rough Guides covers – they’re all good maps and Stanfords.co.uk in London has them all….” and then, being the useful sort of chap I am, hehe, I said I’d be happy to buy them for him and mail them to collect in Australia or New Zealand or Buenas Aires…. but it’ not a service I can offer to everyone… well, not for free anyway ;-)
Reise also have one for Ecuador now which may be more accurate than the ITMB one I had, but don’t have one for Colombia. Yet….
