as I sit here in San Rafael sweating over a cold beer and mentally prepping for another long, hot day on the bicycle tomorrow it’s easy to forget what life is like in Haiti now one month on for the million homeless and 300,000 injured… it’s a sad coincidence that the earthquake coincided with my arrival in South America at the start of this journey. Shelterbox are making a real difference but the task is huge….
The latest Shelterbox news a month on is here: http://www.shelterbox.org/news.php?id=252
and the BBC have an article worth a read here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/8511997.stm
If you’ve made a donation to Shelterbox as a result of these pages… either via my Just Giving page or Shelterbox direct – thank you :-) If you haven’t, well I hope you can spare a few quid… right now Peru seems an awful long way away still but I don’t need help to get there… what I do need help with though is reaching my target for donations to Shelterbox ;-)
Yes. Shelterbox is proving it’s worth again – this time in Haiti.
They had good coverage from CNN when we were in Egypt.
Hope the vintage wine was good.
David.
hello, how are you .. survived Egypt then which is good news :-) Tx for that insight, is good to see shelterbox getting some recognition/coverage… and as for me yes the wine was very good but they put it in such small bottles. Tonight I am in Mendoza, 1958km and one month after leaving Puerto Montt… tired but happy … :-)
